    History of Brasserie Goudale

The history of Brasserie Goudale is marked by twists and turns and passion. Founded in 1919, it initially operated under the name Grande Brasserie des Enfants de Gayant. Its acquisition by Jean-Pierre d’Aubreby in 1955 marked a significant turning point in its history. In 2000, another local brewery, Brasserie Jeanne-d’Arc, was integrated, resulting in the creation of Brasserie Grain d’Orge.

In 2010, businessman André Pecqueur acquired the company and initiated an ambitious relocation project, leaving Douai for the town of Arques. With this relocation, Goudale Blonde beer was officially born in 1994. Its name comes from the old English appellation “Good Ale.” Thanks to the brewers’ expertise, production increased considerably, from 26,000 hectoliters to an impressive one million hectoliters.

The €45 million renovation work undertaken since 2018 demonstrates the brewery’s commitment to further increasing its production and continuing to grow while preserving the authenticity of its production methods.
